Jumping in with both feet

When I was growing up I wanted to be a columnist.  Yep, that’s how old I am.  I remember reading the musings of Dave Barry and Erma Bombeck and thinking, “I could do that.  How do I get a job like that?”  Add that to my love of correcting everyone’s grammar and I thought writing funny stuff for a newspaper was right up my alley.  Flash forward 20 or 30 years…fine….maybe 40….and here I am.  Newspapers barely exist and everyone out there has some sort of blog begging for attention.

I’m not really interested in giving advice or even getting my opinion out there.  I don’t have anything to sell and don’t really have any particular talents I can share.  My life is pretty ordinary and not much different from the average stay-at-home mom’s I would assume.  But I DO tend to see the humor and absurdity in the ordinary. And I am super good at making fun of my friends and family.  So there IS that.

People have been telling me to write a book or start a blog for a long time now.  So here I am.  Hopefully this will give some people a smile or a laugh for the day.

And maybe get me on Oprah.
